Highlights:
The workshop, led by Dr. Lakshmi Jagannathan and Dr. Loganandan, focused on the role of technology in boosting farmers’ income. Prof. Ramesh Kestur presented on the use of AI in agriculture, showcasing how it can simplify farming and enhance data accuracy.
Problem Statements :
During the workshop, the following key challenges faced by FPOs (Farmer Producer Organizations) and farmers were identified:
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for FPOs
- Monitoring Crop Status for Farmers
- Bridging the Demand-Supply Gap
- Water Budgeting Solutions
- Drone Applications for Grading, Sorting, and Yield Estimation
- Disease and Pest Forecasting for Crops
- Seed Viability Testing using Echo Sound and Ultra Imaging
Next Steps:
The workshop concluded with plans to collaborate with startups to develop digital solutions for these challenges, aiming to support FPOs and farmers through innovation.
