Digital Health and Ethics: 17 DEC

Date: Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, Time: 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM

While innovation today is shifting gears from automation to autonomy, they are compelling to further the rhetoric of accelerating the digital transformation of healthcare systems. The challenges presented with the de facto adoption of digital technologies for healthcare systems are due to two attributes of health systems: the dynamic nature of contextual complexities arising from interactions of agents, systems and their settings, and the value-sensitive nature of the service delivery. Through this workshop at ADCOM 2024, we aim to explore the emerging ethical concerns in digital health and the challenges in the translation of principles of bioethics and digital ethics into an actionable, contextually adaptable ethical assessment framework. This workshop will allow for a deep dive into a nuanced understanding of ethical challenges in the digital health space and possible pathways to address these challenges.

Workshop Format:
The workshop will be delivered through a closed session with domain experts and relevant stakeholders. Invited delegates include healthcare providers, digital health tech producers, Independent consultants, patient interest group representatives, researchers, academic faculties and Government representatives. The workshop will be moderated by researchers at the Centre for Internet of Ethical Things (CIET), International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B).
